"gagillionaire" Wins this Week's Full Tilt $750,000 Guaranteed Event
Again the Full Tilt poker pro's were out in force. Mike "The Mouth" Matusow finishing 115th for the highest placing of all the official "red named pro's." If you are playing at Full Tilt and notice in the lobby that a player's name is in red, you better get your poker thinking cap on because you have just stumbled upon a Full Tilt poker pro. Of all the other pro's who made the payout positions where Ram Vaswani, finishing closely behind Matt in 118th, Thomas Wahlroos, the 3rd best pro of the night in 142nd. Further down the field was Jon "PearlJammed" Turner in 259th and the final pro to make the payout positions was Lee Watkinson back in 308th.
First to crack at the final table was Fire80, getting involved in a three way call with Jubbley and Eddits, who had AA and 88, respectively to Fire80's QQ. Although the flop gave Eddits another 8 for trips, an Ace gave Jubbley back the advantage to take down the pot. Fire was squeezed out in 9th for $10,200.08.
Next to receive a killer blow was AmericanTilt. Looking down at his 10-10, AmericanTilt small raised on the big blind position. Mr_BigQueso called. The flop provided a dangerous Q. AmericanTilt checks and Mr_BigQueso threw in a half pot raise. AmericanTilt took this opportunity to check raise all in, attempting to represent the Q. Unbeknown to him, Mr_BigQueso was slow playing his AA and called. No help to either by the river and Mr_BigQueso took down the pot, relegating AmericanTilt to 8th position, collecting $13,701.60.
Sitting in the Big Blind position and desperately low on chips, Flynn McCaffrey pushed all in with his 5-2 offsuit. Jubbley called with A-J. When the flop provided an Ace, it spelt curtains for Flynn McCaffrey who dropped out in 7th for $17,505.60.
gap1974 was next to go, pushing all in with his 6-6. Called by Eddits K-10, who landed another King on the river to put the final nail in gap1974's coffin, who exited the tournament in 6th for a respectable $23,368.84.
There was tit for tat action until Mr_BigQueso made a bold bid for the blinds and pushed all in with 6-4, gagillionaire calling him with pocket 3's. The river provided nothing for either and Mr_BigQueso dropped out in 5th for $31,513.68.
Soon after, gagillionaire was back in the thick of the action, calling phatphat's A-2 all in shove, with his pocket Q's. The flop gave phatphat back the advantage with an Ace landing but the turn card provided another Queen, giving gagillionaire his Trips. No help on the river card and phatphat dropped out in a brave 4th place, collecting $42,018.24.
It was now Eddits turn to make a fateful move. First to play, Eddits pushed all in with A-K. Again it was gagillionaire who was landing the cards at the right time with KK. Eddits couldn't find an Ace buy the river and to make things worse, another King landed on the turn to finish Eddits night in 3rd. collecting $53,284.
Pretty even going into the heads up situation were gagillionaire and Jubbley. Taking command, gagillionaire eventually eased his way up to a 2.5 - 1 advantage. With A-J, gagillionaire put in a standard raise. Jubbley decided to push all in with his K-8. The flop landed 6-A-J giving gagillionaire. The turn card provided a glimmer of hope for Jubbley with a Queen. He needed a 10 on the river to give him an unlikely straight. It was not to be and he took second for $81,448.40.
A pretty fine win for gagillionaire who collected a cool $134,770.46 for his nights work.
